What a Genuine Battery Health Test Requires
Not every battery health test measures the same thing. Miss any one of the three things below, and a real fault can go undetected — sometimes costing thousands of dollars in a missed warranty claim or a battery replacement nobody saw coming.
1. Cell balance over time, not just a snapshot
AVILOO assesses cell voltage delta under load over a multi-minute window, reading each cell against its own open-circuit voltage and against typical values for that cell — not a single static reading. A cell can look fine sitting still; real faults often only show up once the pack is under load, and a raw voltage number means little without knowing what's normal for that specific cell. Test it as a snapshot, and a genuine problem simply won't show.
2. Battery health corrected against real-world data
A car's own dashboard reading comes from the manufacturer's battery management system (BMS) — useful, but calibrated for warranty and driver comfort, not resale accuracy. AVILOO independently checks that figure against real-world energetic capacity using a model-specific dataset built from 100,000's of prior tests, rather than simply repeating what the car already says about itself.
3. Diagnostics that go beyond error codes
A manufacturer's BMS only raises a warning once a fault crosses its own internal threshold — which means a real, worsening problem that hasn't yet crossed that line is invisible to any tool that only reads what the BMS has already flagged.
